Concrete production is a huge emitter of greenhouse gases, but we all need concrete. Millions of tonnes of it are poured for foundations, onsite walls, floors, partitions and more. The “glue” part of concrete is cement. We can use processed fly ash to reduce the amount of cement needed by one third, significantly lowering the product’s carbon footprint. From the Aberthaw stock pile, we will process 450,000 tonnes per annum into a British standard cement replacement. These will be delivered by train to London and the South East of England where demand is extremely high.
